sg i love ts powerful tone it blows you off ! the sg is another version of the les paul which was ment to compete with the strat in the early 50s it was still named les paul i dont own an sg i have a copy of it and savin up for the angus young sg

I'd go with the Les Paul...I like the angle design (neck vs. body) = more sustain... also, it weighs a ton!!! again, more sustain and tone. The look is also much more beautiful... You don't pay twice the money for nothing, you know... I still love SGs however (especially those devillish little body ''horns''. I own a light burst Les Paul standard and plan to buy a Flying V... Gibson rules!

I currently own an Sg Menace. I love it, it never let me down. I never had the chance to jam on a les paul, but I'm guessing it would be a bit lighter than an Sg.

les paul is a category 'hersrelf'!you can't compare wth other guitars!the some goes for sg of course!if you are a real player you should have both guitars!irecently got a gibson les paul standard desert burst 60s neck and i am already saving money to buy the sg and the my dream!the gibson les paul black beauty!these are some real guitars!

Les Pauls are the absolubtely best, you cant compare it with other guitars. Is just came back from Chicago where i bought a Les Paul Classic and it is AWESOME I think theres not a better guitar than a Gibson Les Paul.
